Arsenal Highbury Cobble Tops

#0036

Own a genuine piece of Arsenal Football Club history with an original Highbury cobble top.

These original cobblestones were reclaimed from the demolition of Highbury Stadium, the home of Arsenal Football Club from 1913 to 2006.

I purchased approximately 30 tonnes of these original cobbles directly from the demolition contractors on behalf of AllSaints, for use outside their famous Portobello Road store. More than 3,000 cobbles were individually cut, removing the top section so they could be laid as tiles over the concrete forecourt surrounding the store.

Unfortunately, once we began laying them, we were informed by the council that the forecourt formed part of the public highway and therefore the cobbles could not be used as intended. The project was stopped, and the remaining cobble tops have subsequently been stored in our warehouse for the last 18 years.

So, whether you stood on the North Bank, watched from the Clock End, or simply have an affection for one of football's most famous former grounds, these original Highbury cobbles are a rather unusual piece of Arsenal history.

Each piece is completely individual and varies slightly in size, although they are generally around 10cm × 10cm × 2cm deep.
