A late 19th-century glazed taxidermy display case of British bird specimens in a naturalistic setting, centred by a pheasant. The scene is further populated with various songbirds including a kingfisher, cuckoo, thrush and partridge, amongst moss, ferns and branchwork.
The interior bearing an original paper trade label for John Guest, Bird & Animal Preserver, Whittington Moor, near Chesterfield, dated 1900.
